Not a fan of new narrator
I have really enjoyed previous seasons of Border Wars, however, I am really struggling with the new narrator for Season 5. He has a thick Texan accent and uses way too many cowboyesque colloquialisms. In previous seasons, the narrator had a newscaster-style voice and provided a fairly objective explanation of events unfolding in the episode. The current narrator acts more like a law enforcement cheerleader and constantly interjects opinion statements about persons arrested or detained in the episode. Perhaps this is popular with a particular segment of viewers, but I feel that the new format sacrifices any appeal to a broader audience. Also, the background "suspense" music is cheesy, which is true of almost all police reality shows, with the exception of Cops which does not edit in any background music.
Good Series.
I enjoy watching these, and find them quite interesting. I have never been to the border, and this gives you a great glimpse of life on our borders.
