My inner child LOVES this complete series
I think no other cartoon series ever has so perceptively captured the delights and disasters of childhood. And the cartoon art is fascinating in its creativity in solving all the problems of communicating through simple drawings. Who else has ever communicated such a range of emotions and characteristics through a little blue lozenge with the only features being arms, eyes, and mouth. The stories include so many of the common childhood experiences we all share: what to do when rain keeps us indoors, insecurity and self-doubt, how to deal with sometimes impossibly annoying friends, the joy of trips to parks and playgrounds, the child-rejecting neighbor, best friends, school victories and embarrassments, the nasty big brother. The stories are told with humor that appeals to both children (rated for 7 and up) and adults.
